Accessing a local box with a remote IP

So basically I want to access a local box I have (192.168.1.70) from an application on my BlackBerry that lets me connect via SSH. I enter the remote IP I have (which is like 74.222.X.X) and I figured it wouldn't work, but I gave it a shot anyways...of course, it didn't. So how can I access this local computer from my phone? Thanks to anyone in advance that helps!

This is related to BackTrack how? Unless there is a Backrack connection this post is where discussion on this will have to end, we are not a general IT support forum.

If the local box is Internet connected, I would assume that your system with the Internet accessible IP address (probably your router) is using NAT to allow that box to talk to the Net. You need to port forward the appropriate ports (TCP 22 if you want SSH access) from the router to that local box.

People should understand NAT before attempting to use Backtrack.
