    Default crunch question

    hi guys,

    Would I be right in thinking that if I added another line to charset.lst
    something like:

    ualpha-numericmangled = [qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm768932541]

    crunch would pass through the charset in this order to randomise but still create every combo
    this is just a vain attempt to randomise and speed things up

    Cheers in advance,

    B.

    well I've edited the charset.lst and it does appear to be doing what i intended but i have taken the zeroes out also as i think to create a default list there perhaps wouldn't be any zeroes as this could lead to confusion as with the letter O could be vice-versa I admit..... but it doesn't appear to have taken the zeroes out *scratches head*???

    Any ideas....... Anyone???

    Well, post the command you are using..

    Just tried that out for sh1ts and giggles, and yes, it does work.

    I edited the charset.lst file by including your proposed mangled list and running as usual it works OK (and doesn't include the zeroes)

    Added the proposed charset in charset.lst as follows ;
    Code:
    lalpha-numeric-mangled = [qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm768932541]
    Then checked output with;
    Code:
    ./crunch 8 8 -f charset.lst lalpha-numeric-mangled
    An interesting test, but not really going to break any boundries with it me thinks.
