Belkin Basic Wireless N - RTL8188SU Not Working

I recently acquired a Belkin Basic Wireless N USB dongle. It seems to have decent connection qualities, but I cannot seem to get it to work inside Linux. I know the drivers exist, I'm just having issues getting them compiled and installed. I was hoping maybe someone else had run into this and had some clues. If you need more information I will post.

installed card == Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter but use

Realtek RTL8188SU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter

as it has a much better range but same as you i cant get in to work within bt4 installed on HDD

i did a search but this is the only post i found with a RTL8188SU in it so hope some one reads this and helps a little

I also have a Realtek RTL8188SU USB Wireless card. I downloaded the Linux drivers from http://ud-pc.com/driver/Realtek/RTL8...6.20100226.zip and did the usual:

make
make install

and it put in a new module 8712u.ko

so:

modprobe 8712u

OK, iwconfig now displays wlan0 but airmon-ng displays nothing. This is where I'm stuck. Any ideas?

Update on this, seems the Realtek drivers don't support monitoring mode hence it wont work. Have to wait until someone releases some other drivers which will allow us to do this.
