To create the rainbow tables fast you would need to use a computer that has an nvidia video card that use's the CUDA technology. The CUDA technology allows you to harness the power of the GPU to create the tables as mentioned above look into Pyrit. Let me know if you need anything else.

but couldnt you just hack into the actual wireless router and disable or change the password?

You don't "need" cuda, though it helps. I've created rainbow tables on an eeePc 701, really don't recommend it.

the main problem with this is you will need to re-write most of the current tools to make use of the ps3 hardware. i've been messing around trying to get pyrit to work with IBM's OpenCL SDK on the ps3 but its still a LONG LONG way from being usable. i found that pyrit gets about 50 pmk/s on my ps3 ( no software changes ) but once its working with the OpenCL sdk i expect huge improvements.

WPA/WPA2 supports many types of authentication beyond pre-shared keys. aircrack-ng can ONLY crack pre-shared keys. So make sure airodump-ng shows the network as having the authentication type of PSK, otherwise, don't bother trying to crack it.
    ------------------
The only time you can crack the pre-shared key is if it is a dictionary word or relatively short in length. Conversely, if you want to have an unbreakable wireless network at home, use WPA/WPA2 and a 63 character password composed of random characters including special symbols.

You might also look into CUPPv3.
    CUPP v3 released!

Wouldn't Clustering speed up the hash cracking or Dictionary/Rainbowtables generation?
Maybe 3-4 i7 boards with 3-4 cuda capable graphics cards per board.

I guess, the i7 isn't really necessary here. CPU can't get even close to the GPU rates.

But definelly having 3 or 4 NIVIDIA GTX 480 would speed up a lot, i believe something between 150.000 - 200.000 keys per second, based on the pyrit numbers.

If your capable you can program your own daisy chain of FPGA's and use those to brute force it.

Well, one more question before this topic dies. I don't see many people talking about aircrack-ng + CUDA yet.

Is there any obvious reason that I'm missing?
Also, keep in mind that people do post rainbow tables for popular essid's for keys with reasonable numbers of chars... So the method is not entirely useless

Fake Ap (same essid,Bssid) with stronger Signal than victim original WLAN

    +

That's force the victim to connect to the fake AP ?why? because the original WLAN is just disappeared like charm!

Fake DNS Replies !!! direct the victim to fake page

Bingooo!!! you just comprised the victim box

Whats the difference between generating rainbow tables with rainbowcrack and generating hash tables with pyrit?

Aren't they essentially the same; e.g generating PMKs from a preloaded wordlist with the ESSID salted into the hash/rainbowtables?
