I have the same problem, it might be more help if you post your video specs
I use an nvidia 275 so im assuming there are drivers i can download, but for a live cd, i dont know if i want to do that each time
I'm having trouble getting the resolution to what I want in the GUI. I went to the FAQ's and found out that there was a simple fix, and that all I had to do was type this into konsole:
xrandr -s 1024x768
If I type that into the konsole once the GUI is already running it says:
Size 1024x768 not found in available modes
And if I type this into the konsole thing before I type "startx" it says:
Can't Display resolution (or something like that)
Also, I wanted to know if it was possible for the resolution to be set to something pretty high like "1920x1080". I ask this because that is what I have windows 7 set to on the same monitor. Also, there might be some confusion on whether I should have used an "x" to separate the length and the width instead of a "*", but I can assure you I tried both with the same resolution and it gives the same error. Hope someone can help
