Help with BT4 install - can't boot in.

Hey Im doing this project and have at the 11th hour switched decided to use BT4 as opposed to individual tools. I have been trying for a few weeks now and I am missing something HUGE here.

I'm trying to install BT4 and have got the VM workstation and the bt4-final winzip file too. I have followed many forums and saw some 'how to' videos and still I cannot get it right.

Every time the machine powers on and trys to boot >> a load of buffer i/o error hdc error messages

then

SQUASHFS error read_data_failed_to_reach_block etc etc

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?? Im using an XP laptop

Have you checked your md5 checksums for the images you downloaded?

Are you trying to use it with VMware or on its own HDD or a live boot with/without persistant changes?

Have you tried using BT4 as a live cd?? i.e burn the BT4.iso to a dvd.

Then at computer start-up select the option of booting from CD/DVD,does this work ok for you,can you get to the BT4 desktop (you will need to type "startx" to boot to desktop)?

The BT4-final system is very easy to install now using the script located on the desktop of the live cd,it really is very straight forward.

Have you downloaded BT4 from the official site?

best solution , is to get another source of that image of bt4 , and it would be much better of u download it from bt4 it self
