acer aspire one d250 help

I have been trying to get my nic and wireless card to work in backtrack 3, they completely do not show in backtrack 3 or 4. What has me confused is they work perfectly fine in ubuntu and open suse. Ive tried to search the forums on how to properly install the drivers in backtrack and havent had any luck. if anyone who has ran into this problem with the d250 and could help me out it would be most appreciated.

What steps have you taken so as you can say that they completely do not show up ?
What chipset are they ?
Have you started networking ?
How are you running BT4 ? VM, DVD, HDD, USB, Live, Live with persistent changes ?
Have you checked dmsg ?
Have you checked lspci ?

Yeah, jn Ubuntu [l use Super Ubuntu] my cards are recognised automatically. l read here that BT isn't set up that way as a security measure.
Anyway in BT3 l just used wireless assistant to detect my cards etc.
ln BT4 [as is recommended] you have to start networking - /etc/init.d/networking start.
Or /etc/init.d/wicd start for WICD manager.

iwconfig shows, eth0 no extensions
starting networking does nothing
i run backtrack from a usb

I am having the same issue. I executed the command to start networking. Following this the shell runs through its process of checking each interface. When the ethernet is connected it does see that and the internet does connect in the browser. However, it says that it is not seeing the device for wireless. I checked the interface file to see if wireless was listed in there and it is. The only thing that i would assume is causing it is that since there is an actual switch to initiate wireless on the acer aspire 1 that backtrack does not have a driver for that specific hardware. If anyone could point me in a possible direction it would be apreciated.

Try running the live DVD on an external optical drive and see if the devices are recognized. I tried to run BT4 off of a USB drive on the aspire one D-250 and I had the same issue. I did a full install on the hd and everything works.
