Cant Start Gui

Okay, so I'm running Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 on Windows Vista.
I don't know if its because Virtual PC isn't compatible with Vista, but when i try to start BackTrack 4 in Gui, it returns a Fatal Error

Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server erro

I have 2 screens, so i was hoping to start exploring BackTrack 4 while searching for Help documents online (not the easiest thing to do if you haven't configured internet on BackTrack4 yet.)

I'm going to look around the Virtual PC site to see about updating it and see if i have the same problem with BackTrack3, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be more than willing to try them out.

You probably just need to install your video card driver. What kind of video card do you have? If it happens to be and nvidia card, it should be as easy as

apt-get install nvidia-drivers

and rebooting

VIrtual PC will most likely use a generic VESA driver.

Okay, sounds like it should work.
Btw, I'm not sure if I'm running a live CD version, or the OS setup version. Since it's a Virtual PC, I'd like to make BT4 the OS.

ANYWAY, besides the point.
okay, so after starting up networking, i tried the apt-get.

root@bt:`# apt-get install nvidia-drivers
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package nvidia-drivers
root@bt:`#

I'm not sure if the Virtual PC patching worked, but I'll try downloading the Service Packages.

If anyone has any advice / experience in this field, i would love your advice

apt-get install nvidia-drivers doest work
but driver* does.

After starting up networking, and using apt-get install nvidia-driver,
it spends about a minute at this:
0% [Connecting to archive.offensive-securty.com]
(about a minute or two later)

Well, do you know that your network is actually working, or have you just started up networking. Try pinging something:

ping -c 4 google.com

Or try loading a page. If your connection works within the backtrack cd, perhaps the repository was just down.

Use the VMWare player. Everything I've read on technet says linux and VPC is iffy. Some "qualified" distributions work, others (not qualified) don't.

Ok, I guess i'll have to have my fun in 30 days
If anyone else comes up with a solution, I'd still be willing to try it.
