You can recompile your kernel but we won't really be able to support you.
Not to mention the amount of trouble/problems that can and most likely will pop up as a result of this.
My laptop uses the intel wifi 1000. The driver that ships with Backtrack wants version 2 of the firmware 'iwlwifi-1000-2.ucode' but the only firmware available from intel these days is ver3 (and they do not offer any earlier versions...).
About the only option I can think of is to upgrade to a newer kernel so I can get a newer driver. Since the kernel is very custom for BT4, what am I looking at?
