Is intel wifi link 5100 network card compatible with Backtrack4, I tried the Toshiba Qosmio x300 with backtrack 3 and it wasn't supported yet, I'm currently downloading the new iso and I just wanted to know if it was possible to sniff WPA2 network with it yet!

Common Knowledge: Username, "root". Password, "toor". "startx" gives you a GUI, and "fix-vesa" will fix BT if you have no GUI. Start networking with "/etc/init.d/networking start" and check your IP settings with "ifconfig -a". "dhclient" will automatically use DHCP for your IP. Google is your friend.
Please use google more.
You wanna make sure your chip is able to inject to be of any use.

I have founbd lots of info on aircrack wiki about compatibility regarding intel 5100 bgn but all of them talk about some changes to be made on the linux kernel .26,27... none of them talking about the kernel used on bt4 which is .29, right? So my question is if I need to do the same changes on the tuts when it comes to the kernel or is the kernel on bt4 already patched and I just need to do the rest of the stuff? eg patching mac802, etc...
thank you sirs..
hi!! there:
I had been following many procedures and knowing information about things that had to do with kernels. At the beginning i was using the BT3 without being successful cuz of an issue with the drivers kernels and many more being incompatible with my card so i advanced to download BT4 and im not sure about it but i'm in the same phrase "without being successful", so i will appreciate if i could received some help from you all please. (i had been pulling my hair to get this damn card working) .
When i type the command:
iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions
This is what i get so it seems it is incompatible but for shure with this installation of some drivers and by compiling them i will be successful of course if this is what i think.
ifconfig
