    Default network controller does not apear in lspci

    i have rtl8192e wireless card, and i downloaded and installed linux driver, but did not work.
    i typed in lspci in console and network controller wasn't there.
    this is what i got:

    im not sure that this caused the problem,
    but i just want to make sure.
    is this why i couldn't get wlan0 when i type in iwconfig or ifconfig after installing the driver??

    I don't use vmware but it seems that there's a lot of vmware hardware on pci.

    Do you run Backtrack4 Final in virtual environment? If yes is the answer this is your problem: In virtual environment only USB wireless adapter will work and will show up on lsusb command after you connected it to the virtual machine.

    I may be mistaken. But I believe, in my limited VMWare experience, that you must use either use an USB adapter or a PCMCIA one. I don't believe pci adapters work. If they do, they are limited to a few.

    I don't know what the virtual environment is,
    but if i was using it,
    what should i use to make my pci wireless card work??
