It just wont start

I have been searching and asking for help for about a week now trying to start the dam thing

i burnt it on a DVD, and when it loads up
it just gives me a list of commands, witch do nothing.
iv tryed the command
``startx``...... nothing

iv reburnt and re-downloaded twice...

I don't exactly know what are you trying to say.

So yare you saying that initially was shown a menu of all the possible boot options, you've gone passed through that and then it dropped you into a shell something like `root@bt:~#' and so you tried entering startx but that left you with a blank screen?

Or am I completely missing the plot? Explain in as much much detail as you can.

You don't load it under Windows; Linux is a totally different OS. Boot from the CD.

I have the same problem, boot straight to grub ... donno what to do then.

Just command line "grub:"
