Problem installing ALFA AWUSO50NH drivers

Hi,

Wondering if anyone could help me out with this, I've been banging my head against a brick wall for most of the morning trying to figure out why this error message is given and why I can't complete the install of the driver onto my BT4 installation. I followed the instructions in the readme.txt file that came with the Alfa USB Adapter and can't imagine that it is anything that I've missed (from there). untarred the package, copied the files to the correct location, ran the make all command in the right directory and this is the result:

I used sudo apt-get which updated and upgraded my BT4 installation. The reason I did this was with the intention of ensuring all dependencies were available and up to date.

The only other thing I can think of is that the kernel is either out of date or possibly too up to date? If anyone can help me decipher this error message and maybe give me a shove in the correct direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I am curious about this as well. I was planning upgrading the drivers on the Alfa USO36H but wasn't sure if it was necessary compared to what is already on BT4. The Linux drivers from the Alfa website seen out of date. But now I will wait and see if you get a solution before I go any further.

I managed to get my Alfa card working with the linux drivers (and instructions) that came with the Alfa.

Turns out the error below was due to a missing module in the kernel (pretty obvious one really):

WARNING: Symbol version dump /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.30.9/Module.symvers
is missing; modules will have no dependencies and modversions.

I did a 'cd /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.30.9/' and ran 'make'. Took a while to rebuild the kernel, but it seemed to fix the module problem. There's probably a quicker way to do it, possibly rebuilding the individual module.

I'm not sure if this clears up every issue in the list of errors as running the 'make all' command in the Alfa cards directory gives this result:

I'd still like to get a bit more info on the fsuid and fsgid errors. So if anyone could shed any light, that would be great!
