Search on google for terms like "iwpriv" "txpower" and "alfa". There are some topics on the subject.

If you are using mac80211 drivers you can use this code and it should give you 27db
    Code:
     iw reg set US
    check with
    Code:
     iwlist wlan0 txpower
    --

    ieee80211 drivers you can use

    Code:
      iwpriv wlan0 highpower 1
    then

    Code:
     iwconfig wlan0 txpower 27
    check with

    Code:
    iwlist wlan0 txpower

Would these same settings work with the 1000mw alfa too or would they be different?
