USB Adapter Not Recognized

I am using a Deall Latitude E5500 with a Dell Internal Wireless network card, which I do not want to use. I bought a Linksys WUSB54GC ver3. and I cannot get BackTrack 4 to recognize it. I dual boot my machine between Win XP and BackTrack 4.

When I run iwconfig I only see: lo and eth0

What do I need to do to get this recognized, when I checked the compatibility list it said that this worked out of the box.
