    Default wordlist???!!!???

    ok so i might be asking the most stupid question ever. but i have vmware workstation running backtrack 4, now i have a wordlist but how do i get backtrack to search through it to crack it, im not sure were to put this wordlist or where to find it on backtrack, if anyone could help it would be much appriciated

    There are wordlists in BT that are there by default. Have a look at this directory:
    /pentest/passwords/wordlists/

    Traverse those folders to find what you're looking for.
    Also you can make your own directory just about anywhere as long as you point your program to that location.

    We need to know what program you're using in order to help in inserting your list. But you should really try your best to learn the proper syntax on your own. Almost all cli programs can issue a help command and will show you your options. If it's a gui program you should look for the documentation or even tutorials because some even show video or screenshots that can explain what you're trying to do.

    Back|Track has two word list that I know of:

    /pentest/wireless/aircrack-ng/test/password.lst
    and
    /pentest/wireless/cowpatty/dict
