I'm not sure the NIST vmware images are the best to work with for MSU, because they have been updated with SP3. I went ahead and made a new VM from a Dell OEM XP SP2 CD I had lying around. That might be your best bet imho.

I was following the metasploit unleashed guide and was trying to install IIS on the NIST VM but it asks me for a XP-pro CD. Just want to know if it is required or did I just mess something up because the guide did not mention any required CD.
