Not enough information to conclude this is a bug so I have moved it. Id suggest checking the hash of your downloaded copy of BT4 to make sure it downloaded correctly.
Fatal error while loading BT4 in vmware
Hi,
I am a new user of this amazing distribution and finally after installing it second times I have the following problem. It appears while loading the linux in vmware (installed there) and described by the following text.
modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.29.4/modules.dep: No such file or directory

Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".

Your problem is not a serious problem, it happens to literally every single one of us. I think fix-splash may fix the issue.
