These two issues points to only one error, and that is with postgresql. Have you actually tried searching?

Lol are you serious... i had no idea what to search out of all that. Which is why i came up with nothing.
try this
cd /etc/ssl/certs
ls -ld /etc/ssl/private
sudo ls -l /etc/ssl/private/
make-ssl-cert generate-default-snakeoil –force-overwrite
Since you are making a lot of posts that show your lack of basic linux skills, (and it's the Holidays) I am going to show you a little bit of linux troubleshooting 101: Bold text is important. The rest is negligible.
You did the following:
This is what resulted:
The reason is:The PostgreSQL server failed to start.
Please check the log output: 2009-12-23 22:50:16 EST FATAL: could not load server certificate file "server.crt": No such file or directory failed!
Because of the above this is a result based on your request in number one above:
Because of the above here, this results as well:invoke-rc.d: initscript postgresql-8.3, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing postgresql-8.3 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of postgresql:

Red above should be in google as your search terms along with combination from above. No apport report written because the error message indicates its a followup error from a previous failure. Errors were encountered while processing: postgresql-8.3 postgresql
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code(1)
I would suggest that you spend some time with learning the basics of linux and not using the tools to hack and crack. It's not as easy as you might have heard and you are not going to get anywhere.
BT is probably not going anywhere anytime soon. The tools are only getting in your way of any type of serious learning. I made a stick in the newbie area for guys like you to resource. It contains a ton of information to help get you started.
Look I am all for you learning but there are ways to go about it. Take it for what it's worth.

<whine> Allz i wanna do iz hax0r my neighbor and you beatch's are not helping me! :-( </whine>
Lol. Im not in it to hack my neighbor. I work for an IT/Security Company called Honeywell and we started doing testing on vmware a while back and i only stumbled along backtrack in the last few months and i thought why not learn a bit of linux while doing this as well. Not to hack my neighbor but just for the simple fact that i was interested in wifi hacking and also that ive always wanted to have a crack at linux.
Im not some dumb kid trying to get free internet, So sorry for the stupid questions but ive only just got into linux in the last few weeks.
That did the trick, Thank you.Code:cd /etc/ssl/certs ls -ld /etc/ssl/private sudo ls -l /etc/ssl/private/ make-ssl-cert generate-default-snakeoil –force-overwrite
And thank you angel on the rundown of that error, it seems easy to pick out the errors once its pulled apart like that.
