Default BT4 (pre) Final - VirtualBox xorg.conf Configuration

Just went through the installation of BT4 (pre) Final in VirtualBox and thought I'd post the xorg.conf configuration that I've been able to figure out. This makes life easier when moving to and from the host and guest operating systems (I've only tested with Windows as my host OS).

You need to ensure that you install the VirtualBox Guest Additions before making this change. You can do this by running the script found within the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso image included with VirtualBox.

Recommend backing up the original /etc/X11/xorg.conf file before making any changes. Then use the following configuration:

    Code:
    Section "InputDevice"
            Identifier "VirtualBox Mouse"
            Driver "vboxmouse"
            Option "CorePointer"
    EndSection

    Section "Device"
            Identifier "VirtualBox Video Card"
            Driver "vboxvideo"
            BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
    EndSection

    Section "Monitor"
            Identifier "Configured Monitor"
            Option "DPMS"
    EndSection

    Section "Screen"
            Identifier "Default Screen"
            Monitor "Configured Monitor"
            Device "VirtualBox Video Card"
            DefaultDepth 24
            SubSection "Display"
              Depth 24
              Modes "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
            EndSubSection
    EndSection

I didn't need to edit any configuration files when I installed BT4 in Vbox on ubuntu...

    Seems to work fine!

What issues made you edit xorg.conf?

While KDE will load with little issues within VirtualBox without any modification to the xorg configuration file, there were a couple key options that it didn't provide me with.

1.) By using the "vboxmouse" driver, it enables the ability to move between my host and guest without "freeing" the mouse by pressing the host key.

2.) By using the "vboxvideo" driver, it enables extra high and non-standard video modes as well as accelerated video performance. In addition, you can resize the virtual machine’s window, and the video resolution in the guest will be automatically adjusted. This also enables 3D graphics for guest applications.
