I typed the folloowing:
/pentest/password/crunch 10 10 "1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" aircrack-ng -w -b test-01.cap
At the moment the computer is displaying all the possible combinations on screen. My questions are:
1. Is aircrack actually checking the password?
2. Will aircrack stop the command once it has found it?
3. Will aircrack display the correct password for me?
thanks for your help
Forever seeing as the OP is not actually doing any pipe work.
OP: Hit control C to kill crunch, then retype the command but before aircrack put a | characterIf you can't figure out the extra parts (I did not make a typo in my aircrack command sequence by the way) then you should head back to the documentation.Code:crunch etc. | aircrack-ng -w - -e devnetwork capture.cap
As it is you need to learn a fair bit more about the command line in Linux before you continue.
Still not underestimating the power...
