I think it would be nice if the backtrack team updated the os to karmic.
They ran this hack in V.M.O., so I'm isolating the A.P.I., and just booting the host. -Matthew Farrell
I love how people think its sooo easy to just *switch* versions.
@OP Can you name 3 security related things that Karmic does that Intrepid does not?
Oh Oh!
USN-853-2: Firefox and Xulrunner regression | Ubuntu
That's one (introduction of previously regressed vulnerabilities). Here's another one: USN-850-3: poppler vulnerabilities | Ubuntu
I leave the third up to the OP to use.
You did mean reasons not to upgrade right? The ubuntu dev's don't have a massive focus on security, they upgrade as things come to rise, but they don't necessarily lend themselves to keeping people like us bleeding edge.
The last thing I need is to have my BT4 box counter-hacked by a snarky admin who doesn't realise I'm meant to be there, so consider this a vote for keeping the system as is for as long as possible.
Still not underestimating the power...
There is no such thing as bad information - There is truth in the data, so you sift it all, even the crap stuff.
