Default Why different grub menu after installed to hard disk

Hi, I am new to bt4, may I ask a few silly quetions?

If boots with the live cd, the grub menu looks like:

    Start Backtrack framebuffer(1024x768)
    ...

    Start Persistent Live CD

    ....

After installed to hard disk or usb stick only got some
    ubuntu options:

    ubuntu...
    ubuntu(recove mode)
    ...

And I check the /boot folder, less ramdisks image and a new kernel image generated. If I copy the randisks and kernel image and menu.lst from the cd, it won't work.

Is the hard disk installation supposed to do in this way?

Thank you for your response in advance.

Not sure exactly what it is you are asking here but generally in most if not all installer programs the installer looks at the configuration of your setup and uses this information to configure and complete said installation.
