Default Viewing passwords being sent to AP

    Hey all.

I have a spare router (WGR614v7) just sitting around, and I was wondering if it was possible to see passwords being sent to my AP.

There's no real reason for this, just pure curiosity to see what people use to try to gain access.

    Cheers guys.

You cannot see the passwords in real time, as you might with something using plaintext passwords, such as an FTP server or POP3 (email) server.

Depending on the method and level of encryption, it may be possible to determine the passphrase using cryptological deciphering techniques. The deciphering can range from childishly easy (WEP) to impossible to break (WPA2 using a random, 64 character length passphrase.)
