i need help with NAT in VMware

hey, thanks in advance
i am running VMware on win 7 and BT4 as my vm.
i cant get the networking working right so i can use firefox or the network.
ive tried using other peoples advices and nothing is working.
my setting is set to NAT
what do i do?? even :ifconfig turns up with nothing

By default configuring VMware NAT for a guests interface will enable the inbuilt DHCP server and take care of all of the details of sending traffic to and from the guest system to outside networks. So assuming you havent changed from the defaults in VMWare, AND your Windows 7 system has networking configured properly and doesnt have a firewall blocking your VMWare traffic, the most likely reason for this problem is that you haven't configured networking in BackTrack. Search the forums and Google for information on this.
