Open up Konqueror (that's the file manager program). In the address bar, type the following:

    Code:
    smb://192.168.0.4/
(Replace the IP address above with the IP address of the machine hosting the file shares).

There's also a way of mounting an MS-Windows file share into the Linux filesystem. You use the "mount" program to achieve this. For details, type the following at the command line "man mount".
Ask questions on the open forums, that way everybody benefits from the solution, and everybody can be corrected when they make mistakes. Don't send me private messages asking questions that should be asked on the open forums, I won't respond. I decline all "Friend Requests".

Try turning off simple file sharing (also known as the Sharing Wizard) in Windows 7, and set up shares the old fashioned way. Google can tell you how.

I've used it before, and its quite fast.
