Exclamation Cross Compiling issues I need help plase...

I just installed back-track 4 prefinal on my drive and I went over all the tutorial posted on offesive-security web page.... exept the last step the last part the "Cross Compiling" on the

Offensive Security web page under the tutorials

    what is that compiling for??

and also my problem is when I started the steps with "head exploit.c" command I got this message:

    root@wire-cracker-desktop:~# head exploit.c
head: cannot open `exploit.c' for reading: No such file or directory

Can I fix it or download the file from somewhere??

Dont double post, as mentioned in those rules you agreed to when joining.

In addition, the HowTo forum is for posting guides/tutorials telling others how to do something, not for asking how to do something.

When running the command you show in your post above, did you check to see if exploit.c exists in the current directory, or whether it exists somewhere else?
Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".

The Forum Rules, Forum FAQ and the BackTrack Wiki... learn them, love them, live them.

Well since you didn't provide any path to exploit.c head would assume that exploit.c is in your present working directory, if it wasn't then of course it didn't find it.
I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.

I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
