Compaq CQ60-419WM w/ Atheros AR5007
I bought this machine as a temp laptop to use until my financial aid came in this year. At the time (07/2009,) Walmart was running a deal on these for $298. I wish I would have held on to it, because BT4 pre-final worked flawlessly, right from the initial installation. No driver patching at all. The live cd even worked perfectly. The Wifi chipset was an AR5007 from Atheros. Point is, this was cheap as hell, and is a great option for an extremely inexpensive injection machine using the *-ng suite.
HOWEVER
You have to remember, it is a $300 laptop, and it came with a 2.1 Ghz single-core sempron, and it's pretty slow. After installing the nvidia drivers, the performance improved drastically. Still, I booted to shell and used multiple terminals because running everything in X was slowing the packet injection rate.

It would be appropriate to include details of your wireless card considering you have mentioned that injection works and that Dell laptops can sometimes use different wireless cards on the same model of laptop
