A little search on the internet told this:
The chipset of TL-WN822N V1 is
AR9170+AR9102, and WN822N V2 is AR7010+AR9287
So either look for drivers for these chipsets or use the ndiswrapper to use the windows driver of the device.
hi , i have got a tp-link wn822N usb wireless, i plugged it to backtrack 4 r2 but it looks no interface is found :S
iwconfig nothing shows and ifconfig nothing shows .. also lsusb
so any idea ..

thanks "KMDave" ,,,,,mine is V1 so i have to get ar9170 ,,, ,, ,,, see what happened , i attached it , then i booted bt4-r2 , so it doesn't booted and it says to me that the firmware is not found , so i have downloaded it and putted it in lib/firmware
,,,
i typed in shell
iwconfig
it shows wlan0 ,, i typed airmon-ng start wlan0 , so it start in mon0
then i typed airodump-ng mon0 , it shows me the APs ,,,
after that i stopped the monitor mode by airmon-ng stop mon0 then started it again and airodump-ng again so nothing had shown :S ,,
after typing lsusb it shows me tl-821N v2 ( atheros AR9001u-(2) NG ) not tl-822N
and no more AP show after airodump
i am searching for solutions ,, and .. any idea

easiest thing to do is just unplug the adapter and then plug it back in.
