From a terminal:
Type cd /pentest/exploits/exploitdb <enter>
Now type ./searchsploit <enter>
Also find / -name searchsploit would've located it for you assuming it installed correctly.

I have followed the tutorial below to update the exploitdb but i cant seem to find the ./searchsploit
script to be able to search.

It would appear that you don't understand how paths and names work in Linux. Before you try BT, you might want to learn the basics.
