    Need to know so I can DL the correct version of Slapt-get. Thanks

    cat /proc/version

    edit: Been following your other threads about modifying BT3 to your liking, I think that's good you want to play with the distro to get a better understanding of how things work, but a lot of this info can be found on the forum or Google. Try your google-fu out

    This command gives the version of Linux installed, not the version of Slackware.

    Whoops you're right, that's what I get the google comment. Try

    cat /etc/slackware-verison

    Lol you ran the update script all by yourself !? I moved my kids test off the fridge and posted this thread instead .
