It can be done with fonora or asus routers with a atheros chipset. The linksys broadcom does not support injection.

Has I read, DD-WRT is a linux based third party OS.
The router haves many clean and simple features that is really worth modding.
Cant a AirCrack or BackTrack be released onto this system, making it a WebBased WEp Crack.
I know this is a very studpid question, but it haves me thinking of it.
Here is an example :
192.168.1.1 (Trough ethernet since WLAN will be used) = Webgui
Like in DDWRT do a Site Survy. Select a Wireless access point, it will get the mac address, ESSID, and BSSID, and the router's MAC can be spoofed aswell (I seen it) to 00:11:22:33:44:55 etc.
It will automaticaly start to inject packages and sending them to the client (attacker) trough the ethernet, like a console recording what is being recieved (.cap file)
The router's model : WRT54G V6
CPU Model Broadcom BCM5352 chip rev 0
I dont know, just an idea, dont get agresive over it . . .
