    Default Laptop compatibility issue:

NO MORE HLEP NEEDED - THX ALL WHO HELPED

    I have a Dell E6400 Latitude.

1)It is NOT compatible with bt3 - will it work with bt4? (hopefully)
2)If it wont work with bt4 what recommendations do you have? Cheap laptop? A way to work around the problem?

    thanks!

Why don't you try it out and let us know if it works, and if it does not work then make a post in this thread with the relevant info and maybe we can help you get it to work.

There is a list here on the forums for working a non working hardware.
    Check for more info.
Like I said since BT 4 is relevantly new it may not be there. But that only means that no one has tried it and written it up here.

If you are asking if X will work in BT4-pre on the E6400 then yes, it worked fine for me. xconf, startx and it was up and running.

Where you will run into problems is the wifi. My E6400 has the Intel 5150, which has a driver, and the ucode - unfortunately the driver looks for ucode 5150-1 and on the disk is 5150-2. 5150-1 was never released, so unless you can compile your own iwlagn driver you are out of luck.

I gave up and got a Hawking HWUG1 usb. Scanning works fine - I havent tested injection yet.
