Disabling automatic creation of backup files - LinuxQuestions.org
Doesn't appear to be a solution.
Hi all,
When I create a text file in BT3 (e.g. for notes, etc) using Kwrite, a backup is always generated and I would like to disable this feature as it creates too much clutter. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: I do not have this problem when using the Live CD of BT3 when I create and save text files to a mounted USB drive. This only happens when I use the Vmware version of BT3.
Thanks,
Yeesh

A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.
You could also have a look at the handbook, but google is probably faster
