Intel 6200 adapter firmware update

I'm using Backtrack 4 booting from a usb stick.
My Sony laptop has the new Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN adapter.
I was trying to get aircrack to work and i kept having that lame "SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory" error...After a lot of searching i found out that it has to do with the adapter's firmware so i checked in /lib/firmware folder and it has firmwares for up to 5000 series and not for the 6000 ones.
Anyway,i found the the microcode image needed for my adapter are here: http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwif...-9.193.4.1.tgz

So, my 1 million $ question is.....Can i copy them somehow from the laptop's hard disk (using windows 7) to the usb stick and place them inside the /lib/firmware folder? If not, is there anything else i can do about the firmware?

why don't you copy them from BT, using mounted laptop's hard disk?

Yeah, that's what i did eventually earlier today heh...

But still im missing the iwlwifi-6000-1.ucode and iwlwifi-6000-2.ucode files to put in /lib/firmware... searching for them but no luck till now :/

Might want to mention about updating the database before actually using this command. Since it will not locate the above if said database is outdated.

All i found are the *.ucode files up to 5150i.. and they are not the ones im needing.....

As for updating i cant connect to internet with BT since i cant make my Huawei usb modem (using Vodafone 3G broadband) to work...

Is there a way to download the needed updates using windows and install them to BT manually??

P.S I no longer use a live usb to boot to BT, it's intalled to a hard disk partition

I am still having troubles with this. I copied over the files into the firmware folder but nothing loads. I see 5000 series drivers and 4965 drivers but not 6000 series drivers. Please help!
