    Default Trouble installing BT4 Final from live DVD or USB

    HI!!!
    Im new to Backtrack,and i have a problem of installing it on my laptop,i downloaded Iso file ,burnt it on DVD
    ,also made an USB Live on another PC,but on mine ,after reboot with DVD in,i have problem I coudnt start GUi interface,On a first screen i chose something like this "Start Backtrack framebuffer (800x600)" after when everything is loaded i shoud type a STARTX command,so i did that,but I get an error,and nothig happens

    That is what i have after typing startx and pressing Enter

    Have you tried "fix-vesa" (no quotes) before issuing the startx command to see if you can get a gui?

    Yes i tried fix-vesa,but still same problem, just doing copy of xorg .... and ask to make a restart of X
    so i typed startx but same thing

    yes i tried fix-vesa,but problem stays the same

    Did you check the iso so it isn't corrupt?

    After you've verified your MD5 sum per Encrypted_Soldier, please post your lspci -nnv so we can see what type of video card you are using in order to further help.

    How can i do that on win 7? "verified your MD5 sum per Encrypted_Soldier, please post your lspci -nnv" and what is lscpi -nnv?

    A classic example of why we suggest to new users to not use Back Track. However, I have a guide for you, my guess is that you did not bother to read the stickies or the readme's that we have provided for you.

    Check those out as well as the faq on the main site, a good review of the rules will also not hurt.

    BTW: Using BT requires quite a bit of reading.

    OK so you have an NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800 card, have you tried searching on this forum for information?

    Yes, i tried,but unfortunately almost on all forms they explaining how to do all tricks,AFTER installation,but my problems is that i coudnt start this instalation,after rebooting with live cd or usb i coudnt rich GUI interface,thats why i coudnt start any installation
    Maybe problem is that i have 2 graphic cards?and x server coudnt decide wich card it shoud use as primary?
    And for the Link above you gave,its also explaining only after HDD installation!!!Any suggestions?
