Can't put Wi-Fi card into monitoring mode

I've downloaded the BT4 and successfully boot into xwindows.

After running the console and run the command

iwconfig

my wi-fi card is in Managed Mode.(Wi-Fi card is intel pro 3945 abg.)

I want to put my wi-fi card to monitor mode and I run the command

modprobe -r iwl3945

it was successful ...

after this command

modprobe ipwraw

console showing that

FATAL: Module ipwraw not found.

How can I put my card into monitoring mode?

iwpriv is the command to check this.

Intel 3945 supports Discovery/Injection right out of the box.
use what other member suggested by putting airmon-ng start wlan0/wifi0 whatever interface.

this command works like charm ...

iwconfig wlan0 mode Monitor

now I can toggle between monitor and manage mode ...
to put in manage mode

iwconfig wlan0 mode manage

i type iwconfig

and get lo-no wireless extensions

eth0-no wireless extensions


i type airmon-ng and it just comes up with interface chipset driver

alll blank nothing else

i have a netgear wg111v3 any help please
