Hi, what's your goal for installing office on backtrack ?
Here I created a tutorial of how to install Microsoft Office 2007 on a BackTrack box. Here is the link, it its in Spanish but I got Google Translator and Microsoft Translator. Link:Brea Caliente: Tutorial I: Microsoft Office 2007 en BackTrack 3. Just click translate on the top Google Trabslator bar and you got it.
Hi, what's your goal for installing office on backtrack ?
Thanx for the great work![]()
thanks this could be useful
It's kind of like putting mud truck tires on an F1 car. Sure, it will work, but why on earth would you bother?

Stop the TSA now! Boycott the airlines.
Nice that it worked, Did he have to config much or just intstall crossoffice ?
I hope Adobe Photoshop also runs in BT4.
As a moderator:Well he is technically free to make any type of tutorial he wants. My guess is so long as it is not explicitly breaking a law or is unethical it is OK. My point is that is should be for BT4 and not BT3 posted here.
Otherwise: I don't see "why" either Barry. It's certainly not what I would use or even think about.
That's a really good question.
@OP I can certainly appreciate the time and effort you put into making this tutorial. But I can't think of any reason to install microsoft office on a linux pentesting distro. I don't even tell people to install microsoft office on a microsoft windows machine. It's not worth the money to go buy a license when open office does the same thing for free with less hassle. I tell my clients to at least try open office and if they are not pleased I install ms office for them. So far I've only had 1 person call back that wanted ms office instead. Oh well, it's your machine to do with it what you please. Thanks for the effort anyways.
