Where it is?
I was looking inside a .cap file with wireshark and i see that the ESSID is different from what the broadcasting is
-this is a cap file i captured with my network, and no i never changed the ESSID

How are you looking for the essid?
you should first filter for your bssid like this:
wlan.bssid == 00:1B:2F:4A:2D:B8
then filter for wlan_mgt frames
This is really a waste of a thread. There is tons of info on wireshark on the net.
sorry but i already know how to filter it out with wireshark. Actually to see the correct SSID you dont need to filter anything out, just look for the Destination "Broadcast" and you will see the SSID to the right. But i just wanna know why is the source "BelkinIn_21:2c:16" but the SSID is "Testme". Other .caps i see that the source matches the SSID. for some reason my other network not showing it right..idk

If you did not make airodump listen to on bssid, then it will capture other packets from other sources, ie. your neighbors.
