    How are you looking for the essid?

    you should first filter for your bssid like this:

    wlan.bssid == 00:1B:2F:4A:2D:B8

    then filter for wlan_mgt frames

    This is really a waste of a thread. There is tons of info on wireshark on the net.

    sorry but i already know how to filter it out with wireshark. Actually to see the correct SSID you dont need to filter anything out, just look for the Destination "Broadcast" and you will see the SSID to the right. But i just wanna know why is the source "BelkinIn_21:2c:16" but the SSID is "Testme". Other .caps i see that the source matches the SSID. for some reason my other network not showing it right..idk

    It's the government spying on you! Lol jk.. Do you have a belkin router? COULD it be the neighbors your are accidentally picking up somehow?

    If you did not make airodump listen to on bssid, then it will capture other packets from other sources, ie. your neighbors.
