    Default configuring apt-get updates

    hi i wanted to try linux not spoonfed and made for me to use,so i installed kubuntu and want it to fetch from backtrack-linux.org and offensive security.com so i can get stuuf directly from coomand line question is how do i configure apt-get to do that??

    this isn't supported by the backtrack team. You'd be better off getting these programs via the ubuntu universe or multiverse repository for stuff like chntpw, medusa, john, ophcrack, aircrack-ng etc.
    you could add the repos to your ubuntu install but you'll run into loads of problems as bt4 is based on 8.10 intrepid so dependency hell and slightly different packages made for different systems, there's an faq thread about this in the faq forum, i think

    You can mess with the sources (/etc/apt/sources.list), but be careful with updates, and some stuff may not work like in BT4.

    He won't be replying any time soon but OP we do not support these types of activities. There is indeed a faq on this.
