How do i connect to internet in backtrack3 usb
modem : zte zxdsl
adsl
backtrack 3 usb
eazy adsl (algeria)

Just attach your modem with your pc and type

wvdial-c

and open

/etc/wvdial.conf

and write your full information. for example:

[Dialer Defaults]
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Modem Type = Analog Modem
Baud = 9600
New PPPD = yes
Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
ISDN = 0
Phone = *99#
Password = vodaphone
Username = vodaphone

wvdial isn't for dial-up connections or I remember wrong? How can she/he use wvdial with a ADSL modem? Did you (or me?) missing something?

@OP You said that you have a ADSL modem but you didn't say to us what model you have and what type of ppp uses your ISP (pppoA or pppoE ?). As far I can see (in google) there are several zte zxdsl models (620,626,831,831A etc)

I thing it should be a good idea to start from:
1) Your modem is recognized from BT? If not then find drivers for your modem.
2) Contact you ISP and ask for instructions how to connect to them with linux.
or search with google if someone else was able to use your modem with linux. If thats the case then you will have no problem to connect with your ISP.

PS I thing it should be a good idea to provide us in the future a little bit more of informations and more accurate ones in the future, not just a sentence "How do i connect to internet in backtrack3 usb".
