I want to automatically start x but I do not want the user to automatically log in because I sometimes leave my laptop at work and reboot it from home.

I want it to automatically start up in x but I want it to bring up the authentication menu.

    How can this be done?

I think that an "apt-get install kdm-kde3" should fix the issue.
