Q1. Did you check MD5 of the iso that you downloaded?
If "No", check it..
If MD5 is fine, then-
Q2. Did you burn the DVD at a fast speed?
If "Yes", burn slowly....
hi, i just downloaded Backtrack 4 pre final from remote exploits, and from the looks of things the download went fine, however when i try to boot up from the live cd option i get the bad checksum errors, which is followed by a few more errors the continues on to root@br:~#.... any ideas?

So it turns out that there wasn't anything actually wrong. what i did was try and run it through Virtual Pc 2007 and that is how i got those errors. i'm not sure why. When i actually used it "the right way" there was no errors and the it ran smoothly.
How do i check the md5? And is there a reason why i get these errors on a virtual system and not on my "actual" system?
