Unhappy Re- installing apps off live cd?

    I did an apt-get update && upgrade.
One update was wine, which I use.
Now wine is broken, messed up. Something went weird.
I tried uninstalling, re installing. But it didn't work.

Is there a way to re install it from the live cd?
If so I need step by step commands.

    I'm a noob, please don't kill me..

A little more info would be nice to have.
Error messages, where did you download wine from? Or did you get it from our repos?
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

    me too.

in wine, nothing opens up.... and there is no "open with wine" when you right click anymore.

I got it from the repos.
One of the problems is I cant "open with wine"
when i right click, as the other user stated.
Also there is no wine in the start menu.
I can cd to the program and open it through
a terminal with "wine program.exe" but when
I go to convert and save a file with the program I get a long error.
I'll edit and post the error here if needed but its long..

I was hoping to just reinstall the default version off the BT4 final live disc.
Thinking maybe theres a conflict/bug with the program and the newer version of wine.

I googled around and asked for help at other forums to no luck.
This was the last (resort) place I wanted to post something like this.
    Thank you for your time.

    Edit:

So since I didn't get a straight answer to my question above in bold text
is that it cannot be done. I guess I'll just re-install BT4 all over.

Same here, as a workaround open a terminal and just cd to the directory containing the program you want to install and type : wine name_of_program.exe and it will launch the wine installer. To install an .msi file type: wine msiexec /i name_of_program.msi. A little searching goes a long way:
