    Smile Backtrack 3 Live-CD -- Upgrade-kernel to 2.6.30.5

    Hi everybody

    First of all, This is my first time to use Linux OS , and found it very easy with your tips and tutorials....So thank you

    My problem
    I'm running Backtrack 3 Live CD on my PC, and I'm wondering If it is possible to upgrade kerenl from 2.6.21.5 to 2.6.30.5 .


    I will be thankful to you If you can guide me in this

    Updating the Kernal of a live cd is senseless, BT is now upto its 4th release so you can upgrade to that, if your serious about using linux as your main O.S there are other candidates to BT, either way look into a hd install.
    Sometimes I try to fit a 16-character string into an 8–byte space, on purpose.

    You can't update the Live CD version of BT3. Best thing is to get your hands on Vmware Workstation and download the Vmware image of Backtrack 3.
