    Hi, "backtrack out of the box" means the default state of the operating system, i.e. how it operates when you first use it after downloading and booting and before you alter it by installing or uninstalling et. Hope this helps.

    Maybe this will help you understand

    The LiveCD/iso file with Backtrack that remote-exploit.org provide it is out of the box. As an e.g: If your wifi card is working with Backtrack livecd and you don't have to install drivers or do any tricks for this that means: Your wifi card works out of the box.
