Unhappy BT4 Pre-Final to eee 701 4G SSD Install Fails

The drive is not big enough to hold the full distro. Is there any possible way that a <4GB installation could be released?

I use 4 gig flash disk and it's work fine, may be the problem wasn't you ssd.
May be you can explain how you install it.

It installs to a 2gb thumbdrive fine, but when I run Ubiquity from the "liveCD" it tells me the installation will likely fail if I continue with it on my 4gb ssd.

Do a custom partition scheme in the installer. Make it one big partition with NO swap partition. Works just fine that way.
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

I tried that but I still get
"Some of the partitions you created are too small. Please make the following partitions at least this large (in bytes):

    / 4258442240

If you do not go back to the partitioner and increase the size of these partitions, the installation may fail."

There's nothing to resolve. Pick up an 8Gb (or bigger) sdhc card, or do a live install to the built in flash. Though like I said, it should fit if you don't make a swap partition.

Yep, 4Gb isn't enough. SDHC cards are cheap, and bootable.
