I downloaded the VMware disk image for backtrack 4 pre-final. Unfortunately I found out that it's over 6 gigs unpacked. I wanted to fit it on a 4gig usb stick. Is there any way to make the disk image smaller?
Or...using VMware 6.5.2, can I make my own disk image (using the backtrack4 pre final iso) but only take up 4 gigs of space?
And would I need to do anything to ensure persistent changes? or does that happen on its own?
Thanks a bunch guys.

Is there any way to make persistent changes with this disk image? I know VMware does it a special way...it seems to save all the changes into one file (at least in my experience).
I can't seem to find out where to set this option.
How changes are saved really has nothing to do with vmware.
Granted one can take/make "snapshots" of the image but this is really a different subject. There are plenty of guides here on making persistence work with bt4, a little patience and searching will go a long way.
