    Default Can't Load Startx GUI

After loading the LiveUSB and getting to the command prompt, I type "startx" to boot into the GUI desktop. However, I am immediately dumped back to the command prompt with the following error:

    "Saw signal 11. Server aborting.
    giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error."

Can anybody tell me what this error is and how I might go about fixing it?
I am working with a Samsung NC20 netbook.

    Cheers, Moldy.

Try running "fixvesa" before startx. I have a different comp. but it works for me.

Unfortunately no good. Ran "fixvesa" and seemed to go ok - just retuned to next command line. The ran "startx" and still no good. Same "Signal 11" type error and no GUI.

I don't know what fixvesa does but in bt3 and bt4 beta i had to copy xorg.conf.vesa to xorg.conf in order to get x to start on my laptop (i have not tried pre final on it yet, using a vm).

Re install (if not a live cd)
When booting, on the grub menu select recovery mode > fix x server (or the last option it says something about fix (i furgot but I know its the last one))
