Code:/etc/init.d/networking start
Hello to all elite backtrack users and experts.I have been facing this problem for past many months and seriously seek advice.Actually today i downloaded BT4 pre release.The configuration in Ubuntu where my pc is able to connect to internet using ethernet
on my ubuntu..

On my bt4 pre release i had to give ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.1. When i switch off my modem and again switch on ifconfig shows no ip and subnt for eth0.Again i need to setup but i am not able to connect to internet.

Before when i was using backtrack 3 final the ifconfig eth0 <ipaddr>
gave:
no such device.
Here the backtrack is getting my ethernet card.. If BT4 is ubuntu based then y am i not gettin connected to net.
Please i have May have not presented things in a wise and organised manner but i desperately need help.PLEASE
